Baking Soda is nice and cheap and it can replace many of the harsh cleaners that we tend to spend a lot of money on, for many cleaning jobs in the kitchen. Here is our top 10 list of cleaning uses for Baking Soda.

1. Make a paste with baking soda and water. Grab those rubber spatula’s and the plastic cooking utensils out of the drawer, that have the stains on. Using a scourer rub on the paste.

2. Again using the paste mixture coat a stain in your enamel cookware, leave it to stand for about and hour and then wipe clean. No more scratched enamel by abrasive cleaners.

3. When you have greasy dishes to wash simply add 2 tablespoons of baking soda to your dish washing liquid, the grease will no longer be a problem.

4. Does your dishwasher need to be deodorized? Pour half a box of baking soda into the dishwasher and run the empty machine through the rinse cycle.

5. Wipe a damp cloth with a little baking soda on it around coffee stains in your mugs and watch them disappear.

6. Shake a light coating of baking soda onto stainless steel and after rubbing with a damp cloth see it shine.

7. If you have grease stains on your stove top damp them down with a little water and the cover them with baking soda, wipe again with a clean cloth.

8. Coffee stains in your coffee maker, simply turn on the coffee maker add 1 quart water to the jug with a 1/4 cup of baking soda and let it do the work for you.

9. How do you get burned on food out of your cast iron skillet? Simple put 2 tablespoons of baking soda into the skillet with 1 quart of water and boil for approx 5 minutes.

10. Do you have a thermos flask or thermal coffee cups remove the residue inside again use a mixture of 1/4 cup of baking soda and 1 quart of water and leave them to soak overnight.
